Lisa Cholodenko
Lisa Cholodenko has been working in film since 1990. As a member of the Los Angeles Editor's Guild, she worked as an assistant editor on a number of studio features including
John Singleton's
Boyz N The Hood,
Beeban Kidron's
Used People, and
Gus Van Sant's
To Die For. While completing an MFA in screenwriting and directing at Columbia University's film school, Cholodenko worked under the mentorship of
Milos Forman and directed two short films:
Souvenir and
dinner party.
Souvenir premiered at the 1994 London Film Festival and has since screened at over 25 international film festivals.
dinner party, winner of the 1997 Channel 4 TX prize given by the British Film Institute, has been broadcast in the UK, France and Switzerland. Both films are distributed by Northern Arts Entertainment and Forefront Films.
High Art is Cholodenko's feature film debut.
