Robert Patrick Benedict
Of the frugal Judah, Benedict says, He's the kind of guy, who has a philosophy on life – that everyone should live life as simply as one can.
The youngest of four children, Benedict was exposed to acting at a very young age. His mother and father ran the local community theater in Columbia, Missouri. He eventually studied at Northwestern University and earned his degree in performance studies.
Upon graduation, Benedict moved to Los Angeles to try his luck in Hollywood, where he continued to pursue theater and started landing roles in film and television.
Benedict is best known for his four-year stint as Richard, the annoying adviser in Kelvin Hall, on Felicity. In addition to guest starring on NYPD Blue, he's had recurring roles on Chicago Hope, Buffy, The Vampire Slayer and most recently, as Gibson, the best-friend bartender in Birds of Prey.
Benedict's film credits include Not Another Teen Movie, The First 20 Million, Two Days and Jim Kehoe's Handjob, which is currently in post-production.
In addition to his acting credits, he was critically recognized as a standup comic in 2002 for his one-person show, Nerd, at the Acme Comedy Theater in Hollywood. Currently, he can be found in the Los Angeles club scene as the lead singer and guitarist for local pop rock band Louden Swain, and can be heard as the voice of Vin in Jak 2 the sequel to PlayStation 2's popular action fantasy adventure videogame, Jak & Daxter.
Benedict resides in Los Angeles with his wife (with a baby on the way). His birthdate is September 21.
