Bond Contrasts (Mon Apr 16, 2007 6:49pm ET)report post

Sean Connery was the embodiment. Roger Moore was Pretty Boy. Timothy Dalton was angry and cold. Pierce Brosnan, got it right. Daniel Craig is not a suave lounge lizard, he is a very lethal weapon and a tough as nails 007.

CRAIG DESERCRATED BOND!!! (Thu Dec 7, 2006 3:23am ET)report post
by BondFan
i just saw casino royale today and i hated it. he was bad in the film. he was everything the previous bonds were not. bond went from a gentleman to a dude??? why craig??? why did you ruin a famous character like james bond??? the producers might as well have cast keanu reeves and we all know how bad he is with a british acsent (much ado about nothing, dangerous liasons, bram stroker's dracula). craig has destroyed the essence of bond. i can't believe i spent $11.50 to see his ugly face.

Pride! (Tue Mar 23, 2004 3:15am ET)report post

Being British I am extremely proud when I observe an English actor carrying on successfully our long tradition in this art.

Unfortunately, more often than not, films of great all round artistic accomplishment are not the blockbusters - unless carried up to this level with the help of outstanding special effects. Bravo to Mr. Craig for following his true actor's instinct in choosing his scripts so well. I watched Sylvia recently, also saw Sword of Honour. Though not living in the U.K. I shall certainly watch out for Mr. Craig's films.
