Biography #3

Versatile actor Diedrich Bader can be seen weekly in his role as Oswald on the comedy series The Drew Carey Show.

Although born in Alexandria, Virginia, it was while living in Paris, France at age four that Bader was bitten by the acting bug. When a burned film reel left moviegoers without a chance to see Charlie Chaplin, young Bader leapt on stage, offered a perfect imitation of the Little Tramp, and was greeted by a standing ovation.

High school in Virginia brought him more acting opportunities, and Bader further honed his skills at the prestigious North Carolina School of the Arts. Two years later, he moved to Los Angeles and while working the graveyard shift as a security guard, Bader gained numerous guest spots on such series as Cheers and Quantum Leap before landing a starring role in the comedy series Danger Theatre. His other numerous television appearances include Frasier, Murphy Brown, and The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.

Bader's move to the big screen came in the feature-film version of the Beverly Hillbillies as the twins Jethro and Jetherine, followed by a turn as a construction worker in the comedy Office Space written and directed by Mike Judge. The independent feature Certain Guys showcases Bader in his first dramatic lead. Bader was also recently seen in Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

In addition to his television and film work, Bader has a booming voice-over career. He currently brings his formidable vocal and acting talent to three animated series: Boomer on Lloyd in Space, Kenny on Baby Blues and Zeta on The Zeta Project. Bader was recently heard in the animated feature Recess: School's Out and he provides the voice of Adonis on the daily syndicated cartoon Hercules and can be heard on the animated series Buzz Lightyear of Star Command, Teamo Supremo, and Pepper Ann, as well as the animated feature-length video Bartok the Magnificent.

Bader currently resides in Los Angeles with his wife, Dulcy.
