| by mike chattom Dear Mr. Dutton: I am simply trying to get your attention to a very serious matter and that is a dying species called: African American Males. Either dying before their time or being locked up in prison(s) in and around the United States. I am trying to form a organization that speaks and focus on the people in jeopardy and those that have family members and love ones that are directly affected. We need to raise funds for our endeavor and housing needs for these at risk youth that need to hear from those that have overcomed a troubled and crooked path like yourself. We would like to invite you to speak at our First Annual Prayer Breakfast schuduled tenatively for October 7th 2006 in the city of Los Angeles. I have been given the responsibility to contact you and ask if your schdule would permit you to be there for maybe an hour or two and speak with our youth that have given their time to join with our youth org. by name of Momma hill helps Org. We would like to send a invitation letter to the powers that be and have you speak on the evils of prison and what can come positive from a negative and give insight on what can happen even when a situation seem hopeless there is a way to break free. | by Silvia I admire Mr. Dutton for making this movie series, the Corner. I particularly love the song at the end. I would appreciate if someone could tell me the title of that song and the singer. Thanks in advance. I would also like to know if Mr. Dutton would be available for a speaking engagement at a University in the NorthEast. Comment on this... |

| by Ian McGarrett Has Mr. Dutton ever considered public office? He delivers speeches with passion and conviction and his personal history is an open book - the smear tactics typical of the current American political environment are not likely to have much effect on a constituency willing to vote for him. It has been bought to my attention that HBO does not own the rights to this movie therefore it is not there say so to put it up for sale.:0( I have been trying to find information on how to contact Mr. Dutton or the production company that worked on that film to find out when "The Corner " will be released on DVD and what are they waiting for, it is by far, one of Mr. Dutton's best film works. You feel this film from beginning to end. It had something films lack these days, reality, compassion and truth, with an excellent pick in an all star cast. Red carpet to you Mr. Charles S. | by charles thompson Dutton is my hero. While some may not characterize him as such, I beg to differ. The story of Roc is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the endless oppurtunities that America offers to those willing to sacrafice and work hard. Despite a littered past which included murder, theft and incarceration, Roc redeemed himself. While serving time in prision for murder, he stumbled upon a anthology of black poetry and fiction which transformed him. While incerated, he obtained his high school diploma and a associate degree. Upon his release, he attended a local university where he completed his bachelors degree and matriculated at illustrious Yale University where he took a masters degree in theatre. YES YALE. Dutton went from Jail to Yale. He has been a voice for the voiceless and opressed. His story is a remarkable on tale of personal transformation against disparaging odds. Comment on this... |
