Mark Feuerstein Forum

| by JoJo Mark is indeed one handsome man gay or not. I admire his work for AIDS charities and he does keep one glued to the tv or stage. It must be wonderful to sit at the right hand of God and be blessed with so much, talent, charm, goodlooks, the ability to have a top notch education and coming from a wealthy Jewish Family have certainly been blessings for him. I wonder what it would be like to walk in his shoes? most people are not so blessed. I hope his new show is successful, after a series of flops I hope he does not become the new "Ted McGinley" of tv show failures. Comment on this... | ||||

| by surfur Hey everybody. You know how I've been talking about that rom-com that Mark was in? The movie "Casanova Falling," A.K.A "Giving It Up." Iv'e mentioned it a few times on here. It's one of the few good things Mark was a solid lead in. In it, Mark plays a phillandering playboy named Ralph who beds every beauty at his company. Ralph "finally meets the woman he's ready to settle down with in Elizabeth (Amy Redford). At first, she wants nothing to do with him, but when she finally comes around and they embark on a relationship together, Amber (Ali Larter) enters the picture. Beautiful, willing, and perpetually single, Amber does everything she can to tempt Ralph into bed...and away from the love of his life!" I know the theme sounds like it's from "What Women Want," but believe me, these movies are as completely dissimiar and as opposite as possible. I've been looking for this to come out for some time now. I've been saying "Why won't this damn thing come out on DVD and VHS already?" Well, my prayers have been answered. As well as the prayers of you Mark femme-fans. For those that love Mark and those who want to see him play the lead---here it is. Yes, there's ARE scenes where Mark is shirtless and in his underwear. So.. brace yourselves, ladies. "Giving It Up" will be available at your local video stores 07/01/2003. Circle it on your calendars, hold on and take a look. And someone tell me how Mark is in his off-Broadway play "A Bad Friend." Someone? Anyone? And to Janet Elizabeth , he's 5'8". Comment on this... | ||||

| by Nivcharah Ever since I first saw this beautiful gem of a Jew on Caroline in the City, I thought he was going to be the next George Clooney (someone else I made note of w/ the 1st appearance on Facts of Life). I see strong similarities in their careers and as well as their personalities. Now it's just a matter of time before Mark and THEE show finally connect. BTW: Mark, if you're out there, I'm a beautiful, 5'4", single, Jewish woman in Las Vegas and yours for the taking. Comment on this... | ||||

| by surfur I don't think it was"GMM," but Feuerstein's jump to stardom was either the friendly producer who falls for Penelope Cruz and her zesty style of cooking in "Woman on Top" or as Mel Gibson's skeptical best friend in "What Women Want." He was appropriately friendly, yet truly sleazy as the pre-pubescent producer who lays off Albert Brooks in "The Muse." I think the best film and best role of his carrer was the diminutive, yet dashing playboy in the way off-kilter, offbeat and thought-provoking romantic-and-relationship gender comedy"Casanova Falling." He played Ralph, a womanizing executive who's lifestyle turns upside down when a new female executive--who's something of a babe--comes in and lets him know where he stands. He's taken aback because this woman is so smart, so gorgeous, so determined to be taken seriously... and she's his boss. He's torn between his desire to take her down a few notches, have a relationship with her, sleep with her... A friend suggests "Have sex as often as possible with as many women as possible. Get it out of your system. Like an exorcism." As you probably deduced, a solution like THIS just manages to complicate things even FURTHER. The film won the Best Feature Romantic Comedy Award at the New York International Film & Video Festival of 1999. No real surprise. This movie's plot sounds like the one from 'What Women Want," but aside form the plot summary and the apperance of Feuerstein, these movies are completely dissimilar. Because whereas "What Women Want" was a fantasy-comedy about what MIGHT happen if a guy was given this great power, "Casanova" is a more observational and realistic comedy about the way things are and the way we are and they way we make things. And at the least, it's cerainly a helluva lot better than the lion's share of the truly awful romantic comedy candy-coated crap that Hollywood cranks out like another link at the sausage factory. The movie has a real anaylitical feel to it. About Men, women and their different points of virew and the way they choose to handle relationships and the whole dating scene. Ever since his eight-episode sint as the much younger, yet eventually philandering vetranarian boyfriend on "Caroline in the City," he has been quickly getting pigeonholed as the guy who gets dumped by the female series- regular. This was pointed out on the site "Hey-It's that Guy!" A website for the somewhat known, yet recognizable actors who had yet to become household names. Before "Good Morning, Miami," he was not a household name, but he was a guest on some popular TV-shows like "Once and Again," "Sex in the City" and "The West Wing" (Once again, play the short-term boyfirend that was sent packing). You can't help but wish that for Fuerestein's own sake, he would try to expand his carrer some. He's quickly getting typecast in this limiting role. No, he's not a real chamelion-character actor, but he's got a friendly face, a boyish, sheepish charm, a bodybuilder physicue and a voice as soft as fresh cotton and satin. These could be real traits and true gifts for his acting, but either he or his agent or the biz' haven't found the best way to use them. And he seems to fare so much better when he's in roles like "What Women Want", "The Muse" and "Casanova Falling." Why does he continue to take roles where women cast him aside like a overstuffed Hefty bag? This will not help his carrer in the long run OR the short one and is not the kind of thing he would want to be remembered for later. This guy needs a make-over. I think "GMM" is what will make him a household name. But I hope that when this show opens a few more doors for Feuerstein's acting career, he plays some more mouthy-buddy roles and some more parts where he's a slimeball with an empty front of friendliness and just quit letting women cut him loose. C'mon, let the guy have a real career. Comment on this... |
