Alan Thicke
Alan Thicke is most well known to viewers as Jason Seaver, a role he played for seven seasons on the hit series Growing Pains. Some of his other starring roles include the telefilms Not Quite Human, Not Quite Human II, Still Not Quite Human, The Calendar Girl Murders, Shooting Star, Dance 'Til Dawn, Jury Duty and Rubdown. A native of Ontario, Canada, Thicke began his career in a rock & roll band which lead to him writing and producing specials for the Canadian Broadcasting Company, which lead to him hosting The Alan Thicke Show from 1980 to 1983. Following that, Thicke hosted Thicke of the Night on ABC which ran one season. Thicke has also hosted many television specials including the 1987 Emmy Awards, Animal Crack-Ups, Tube Test I and II, Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss USA and various Christmas and Easter parades. He has also performed in Atlantic City and Las Vegas in which his act mixes stand-up comedy and music, which includes some of his 45 television theme songs like The Facts of Life, Wheel of Fortune and Diff'rent Strokes.
