Deer hunting in Utah (Mon Dec 8, 2008 12:54am ET)report post
by David Marshall
About 15 years ago while deer hunting in East Canyon, Utah about 25 miles northeast of Salt Lake City, I man on a horse rode past me and asked if I had seen "a big knarly buck" where I was at. The voice sounded very familiar. I didn't pay much attention to the face but did notice the heavy handlebar mustache. The man rode off and about 30 minutes later I met up with the rest of our party and we came upon the buck he was looking for. It had been shot, wounded, and was down. I mentioned to the others that a man had shot a buck but couldn't find it and that he reminded me of yourself. Was just curious to know if you were, by chance, there that day, and if so we did take the deer out on horseback that day. And yes it was a very nice buck. 5x5 with a 27 inch spread. Still curious to this day if that was indeed you.

At my lemonade stand I used to give the first glass away free and charge five dollars for the second glass. The refill contained the antidote.

Thank you for Gettysburg (Fri Feb 1, 2008 5:38pm ET)report post
by Maria
Dear Mr. Elliott,
I wanted to thank you personally, if I could; for your participation and portraying General Buford, Union General in the picture film 'Gettysburg.'

I just wish that I could thank all of the actors in Gettysburg for doing a wonderful job in presenting the history of our nation's great struggle to finally be 'THE United States of America.' I am sad that Richard Jordon passed away after Gettysburg's making. Actors like you, Mr. Jordan, Tom Berenger, Jeff Danials and Martin Sheen with those of the other supporting actors and 'living historians' couldn't be replaced now or ever.

Thank you for the 'behind the scenes' compassion as well.

Humble fan,
Maria

Sam, Not sure if you will read this, but I have a Naval Officer that will be retiering from the Navy after 21yrs of service. He has always raved about you as an actor and has always stated how he would ejoy nothing more than to meet you in person. I realize that is probable impossible, so I was wondering if it would be possible for you to send me a letter of appreciation for his 21years of service (including time in Desert Storm, Iraq and many other areas around the world) signed by you. It would be presented to him at his retierment ceremony. If not I understand, but it would mean a great deal to him. Thank you for your consideration.

firefighter you met (Thu Aug 23, 2007 2:15pm ET)report post
by Elizabeth Quinn
Mr. Elliott, my cousin in law Steve Gregory met you at Starbucks some time ago in Malibu and you thanked him for fighting the fire that saved the homes there and offered to buy them all coffee, yet Steve had already paid for it. He is now dying from fumes inhaled while a firefighter and in conversation with him one month ago-he revealed that meeting you and hearing thanks from you was something he still treasures. He is now on oxygen and the cancer is in his kidneys and lungs. He lives in Camarillo. He is a single dad leaving behind a 17 yr old daughter and a warm loving family. Your life is very busy, I realize that, but if there is a slim chance in heaven that you could talk to him-say thanks again it would be amazing. Fighting fires for that area was his calling in life and he lived for it. You are also a person he admired very much and you have brought him many wonderful experiences through movies. I personally want to say thank you to you for acknowledging him that day at Starbucks. You are truly an amazing, kind person.
