Hector earned nominations for a Golden Globe Award and an American Comedy Award for his memorable portrayal of the hotel manager in Marshall's Pretty Woman. Elizondo also starred in Tortilla Soup with Elizabeth Pena and Jacqueline Obradors. His other film credits include Runaway Bride, Entropy, Final Approach, Necessary Roughness, Taking Care of Business, Frankie and Johnny, Beverly Hills Cop III, Nothing In Common, Young Doctors in Love, The Flamingo Kid, American Gigolo, Report to the Commissioner and The Taking of Pelham 1-2- 3. Elizondo has received five Emmy Award nominations for his television work, including an Emmy Award for his portrayal of Dr. Phillip Waters on CBS' Chicago Hope.
Elizondo first gained recognition on the New York stage for his portrayal of God in Steambath, which earned him an Obie Award. High praise followed for his Broadway roles in Neil Simon's Prisoner of Second Avenue, as well as The Great White Hope and Sly Fox, for which he received a Drama Desk Award nomination. More recently, Elizondo starred in the critically acclaimed Broadway revival of Arthur Miller's The Price with Eli Wallach at the Roundabout Theatre.
