I remember seeing Roy Dotrice in Patrick Garland's version of John Aubrey's BRIEF LIVES when it was broadcast on television sometime during the 1970s, I would think.

What a storming performance it was -- especially in consideration of the fact that Roy had already been shot by Kirk Douglas in THE HEROES OF TELEMARK.

Seriously though, it really was a superbly singular and memorable performance.

Is BRIEF LIVES available on video or DVD? And what is Roy Dotrice doing nowadays -- an actor of his calibre could never retire, I know.
