Saw her in One Touch of Venus and that started my being a loyal fan.She truly had beauty that was natural but there was more to her than the beauty. There was an aura about her and she stole each movie scene she was in. She met with celebrities, royalties, musicians, poets and artists.Doesn't this prove (as if she wanted or needed to)that wherever she went, there was an entourage of admirers.She came to us from Smithfield, NC, and no matter where she went throughout the world, her resting place was back home to Smithfield, NC. We miss you, Ava. Thankfully we have your films on vhs and dvds,many photos available to add to our collection, magazines (I had many of those issues), books,and music. Robert Graves and Ernest Hemingway were among your great admirers-who can blame them! Your Museum in NC is a beautiful honor to you. I visited there and met with the director and staff who are also very dedicated to keeping your name alive. Here's to you, Ms G - there'll never be another Ava Gardner. Comment on this... |
