Powers Boothe,
I think you are a brilliant, classy, versatile and not to mention gorgeous actor. I love your beautiful Texas voice and your ability to ease in to any role. Besides David Morse and Nick Chinlund you are my all time favorite. I have followed you since you did Jim Jones. You deserve all the best. Keep acting.

I'm 29 and the first time I noticed Powers Boothe was in the movie about Jim Jones. (I was a teenager at the time and I remember thinking that he was good-looking). Well, I still think he is and I'm curious as to how many other woman think so,too. I love older men and he is something of a heartthrob for me.

Hey thanks for the info. Who was Mr. Booth named after, if you don't mind me asking. Also, the Marlowe DVD's are still available on amazon.com but they won't come up under a search for 'Powers Boothe' only the title (same for Deadwood) I dunno why that is, it's kinda stupid and has been going like that too long. Also, the 'marlowe' book series has been rereleased so fans can read and compare Mr. Boothe's interpretation with the writer's expression of the character.

Too many people march to the same tune. I'm glad to see a man act on his own intuition without fear. His actions exemplfy the true American spirit.

And another thing. That was TWENTY FOUR YEARS AGO. Let it go, really. He's an actor for Christ's sake, not like he's making public policy. (Thank goodness--we have enough Texans doing that right now, thank you very much.)

Maybe he didn't support the strike and wanted his stinkin' Emmy. Good ol' America, where you can have your own mind.

I loved the Marlowe Sseries with Boothe when it ran on HBO in the 80's. Does anyone know where I can get the video release and if the series that ran in Canada is available?

Thanks

More Marlowe, can't get enough (Sat Jun 14, 2003 2:18am ET)report post

Every night before we go to bed my boyfriend and I watch a marlowe episode. There's nothing like Powers Boothe starring as Philip Marlowe. We're on our last one tonight. I'm so sad. Withdrawal will set in soon. Won't anyone produce a news series with Powers as Marlowe? Maybe the revisionist marlowe, a bit older now? The 'Unforgiven' version of Raymond Chandler's classic? I am a film producer, maybe I should do it! Too expensive to get all those art deco props and clothes and probably too expensive to get Powers Boothe! Lament!
