Abraham Benrubi

Abraham Benrubi prepared himself for an acting career by performing in his hometown civic theater and local high school in Indianapolis. After graduating, he appeared in the miniseries Private Victories for PBS. This led to an audition for a feature film shooting in Indianapolis. He got the job, as well as encouragement from both the director and cast to try his luck in Hollywood.

Six months and a handful of television and film appearances later, Benrubi was cast in the role of Kubiac on the then fledgling FOX network show, Parker Lewis Can't Lose. Following the show's three-season run, in 1994, he was offered the role of Jerry Markovic, the admitting clerk, in the hugely successful medical series ER.

Benrubi has appeared in several films, including Twister, George of the Jungle, Oliver Stone's U Turn, Open Range, Without a Paddle and Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous.

Benrubi refers to himself as a total music junkie and is also a fantasy/sci-fi/detective buff, as well as a fan of video games. Back in Indianapolis, he is one of six partners in the brewpub Brugge Brasserie, which specializes in handmade Belgian style ales, giant mussel pots, as well as classic brasserie fare.
