| by Great person inside and out Wow I did not know he was elected Mayor of Fresno California. This is a surprise to me. But although I believe that was loved enough and had the ability to be what God wanted him to be. I am thrilled that he did become Mayor. Although I watch In the Heat of the Night when I get a chance at a another person's house I still think about him being in that Blue Police Suit. I have always admired and have loved Alan Autry. I know he is married to someone else but he will always be one of my all time favorite actors. I wish him all the peace in the world. God Bless him and be with him. I will never get tired of watching In the Heat of the Night. thank you so much for being who you are. ( the christian) It is very important that God is in your life. | by Cyndi I am very impressed with the fact that he is very vocal and upfront about the fact that he is a Christian. There are so many actors that hide the fact that they are believers and seem somewhat ashamed when asked about their belief. I am glad that he is not one of those. I think he is a great role model for children. Too many children seem to look up to things like Marilyn Manson and other rock stars. They would do much better looking up to a real man like Alan Autry and trying to emulate him. Comment on this... |

He looked familiar and when I got to this site I realized who he was and that he wasn't just a lookalike but the real deal. After reading his bio I am even more impressed. | by Eleni Alan Autry easily won re-election as Mayor of Fresno on March 2nd, 2004 with almost 73 percent of the vote.At first he did not want to run again.But when the candidate he endorsed to take his place dropped out of the race, he changed his mind.He did not campaign or advertise during the election, because he felt it was more important to concentrate on city business.His first term runs until January, 2005.His second term will run from January, 2005 until January, 2009.He plans to continue his acting career and his production company has several movies in development.
