Sam Anderson
Television miniseries and movies of the week include From the Earth to the Moon, Norma Jean and Marilyn and The Pentagon Wars, The Man Next Door and The Stand. Regular and recurring series roles include Principal DeWitt on Growing Pains, Mr. Gorpley on Perfect Strangers, Pasadena, Live Shot and Boston Common. Guest-starring roles range from the Fonzie-loving doctor who delivered Phoebe's triplets on Friends to roles in The X Files, Without a Trace, Everybody Loves Raymond, the premiere episode of CSI Miami, The West Wing and many more.
Los Angeles theatergoers are familiar with Sam's stage appearances in such wide-ranging shows as Taking Sides, which ran for 10 months at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, and Napoli Milionaria at the Road Theatre, which won him the 2002 Ovation Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role — the category covering all of Los Angeles live theaters. He has also been the recipient of L.A. Weekly and Dramalogue Awards, and shared a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble for ER.
A native of both South and North Dakota, Sam holds advanced degrees in Theatre, American Literature and Creative Writing. He is presently writing a detective novel and is a member of Mystery Writers of America. Married for 18 years, he is the proud father of 11-year-old twins.
