George Alvarez

George Alvarez made his Guiding Light debut in August 1999 as Father Ray Santos.

The Cuban-born actor received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Parsons School of Design. After graduating, he worked as a bartender at Studio 54 where he developed an interest in acting. George was discovered at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in New York during a casting call.

Prior to GL, George worked on the daytime dramas General Hospital and THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL. He has guest-starred on such primetime series as NYPD Blue and Beverly Hills 90210. He was also featured in the films The Pizza Connection, Suicide and The Art of Dying. On stage, he was seen in A Burning Beach, La Puta Vida and Cracow.

In his spare time, George enjoys yoga, biking, skiing and video games. He has two sons - Kyle and Forrest - and currently resides in New Jersey.
