Kellie Shanygne Williams, born March 22, landed her first stage role at age six in Cousins and has since starred in such productions as Works in Progress, With a Child's Eyes, Pure Energy, Joe Turner's Come and Gone, The Colored Museum and Mine and Yarns at the International Drama Festival in Dundalk, Ireland. Williams also performed in two tributes to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.: Birthday Celebration at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and Celebration For for a King in 1987. Williams appeared in the feature films Suspect and Men Don't Leave as well as in the telefilm Luther's Choice.
