Sigrid Thornton
Sigrid Thornton (born 1959) in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, is an Australian actress who is noted for her roles in the films The Man from Snowy River (1982) and Return to Snowy River (1988) (original Australian title is The Man From Snowy River II). She is also known for her stage roles, including an early 2000s production of The Blue Room.
Sigrid Thornton also appeared in the Australian television sequel series of Father Dear Father in Australia in 1978,, as well as in numerous Australian mini-series, including All the Rivers Run, during the 1980s and 1990s, and her leading role as Laura Joy Gibson in the Australian television series SeaChange (1998 - 2000) brought renewed stardom.
Sigrid Thornton played a brilliant geneticist in a four-episode arc on MDA in 2005, and appeared in the 2005 telemovie Little Oberon, a role for which she shaved her head.
