I was a student in Mexico City attending the University of the Americas where I was taking creative writing. Miss Carroll was in one of my classes. We became friends and she could not have been nicer. One article described her as being married to a "zillionaire" who manufactured glass bottom boats, but she confided to me when we shared a cab back to the city once that he was spending her money. The last I heard from her was when she went to NYC to co-star in a TV play with Tallulah Bankhead. I adored her!
