Gary is a wonderful actor; after seeing him in Forrest Gump, he gave me the impression of someone who is underrated; his name should be a household name. Why haven't I heard more about him & his outstanding talent?He was equally incredible in Apollo 13 & Ransom. If there was ever a movie that came out about the surviving members of the USS Indianapolis, I think Gary would be superb in this role- that of the surviving member who wrote of the trials & heartaches of their hell at sea, while waiting for their rescue, which came by mere accident.

is gary really crippled? there are very few pics of him as a whole, revealing his legs. Does anyone know?

No, Gary isn't crippled. In Forrest Gump, they digitally removed his legs so that it would look like he was. By the number of people fooled, they did good, eh?
Gary is fantastic. :D
