| by JAMES BROOKS Before I begin, I want those who see this message to please visit www.virginiamasden.blogspot.com. as well as Virginia Madsen "official" Yahoo fansite, if you wish any further explantion, regarding this post. I don't know if this is necessary, but it seems that I have to start somewhere, so here it goes. It has come to my attention that certain comments made on this site may have been viewed by people close to Virginia Madsen, if not herself, and may have been greatly misunderstood. I wish to point out that they were made at a time when I lacked certain information that has since been made available, and seems to explain my concerns, which therefore made my expressions of concern unnecessary. I should also explain that my interest has to do with a novel that I am writing, which in part was inspired by Virginia Madsen, whom I have used as a model for the lead female character. To show my gratitude, as well as to express my sympathy for her birthday falling on September 11th (Patriot Day/ WTC Disaster), I arranged for her name to be included in the WHAS Crusade for Children's Walk of Fame, a respected charity in Louisville, Kentucky, to coincide with her 40th birthday. Because of the passion expressed in my previous posts, as well as the activities stated, it is quite understandable that she may have concern about my motives, unfounded or not. Therefore, at this time I wish to offer my sincere apologies and regets for anything said here by me, that has raised concerns. I deeply respect Ms. Madsen for her talent, and I equally respect her desire to her to protect her privacy. I wish to reassure her that this situation will not occur ever again, and I promise that future activities will not involve anything that would violate her deserved privacy. I appreciate your comments regarding this message. Comment on this... |

| by Mr. Mysterioso Dear ??? and AD, Those who live in glass houses should not throw stones... Do you idolize anybody? Do you believe in hero's? Do you aspire to do anything with your life(or lives)? By my reading of your posts, and your negativity that flows from your body, I assume otherwise. It is silly little people like you who cause little children not to have their dreams, and also for others not to try to live out their fantasies! So what, if my man James mispellZ a word does it really make you spin your head? What he was writing was VERY MUCH legible. It seems to me that you are the one who is very ignorant, due to the fact you cannot make sense out of something mainstream. In other words... say like I write to you...."I am going to go accross the street to play basketball"(which I doubt you can do, Grammar police) Would you understand the meaning of that?? Or would you just write back to me, I don't understand you due to the fact you added an extra C in across??? There is a good line you should rehearse... "BEFORE YOU ACCUSE ME(or my friend for that matter) TAKE A LOOK AT YOURSELF IN THE MIRROR" Thankyou, and have a nice day insulting one... P.S. By the way, I am not James, verify it by my IP address if you will... I am a fan of Virginia, but better yet a fan of entertainment. I hope you are also. Comment on this... |

| by James P Brooks The following is a contiuation of comments made in November, concerning Virginia Madsen's career. Due to forseen demands made upon me by my day-job, and lacking the availability of a way of getting online other than the Louisville Free Public Library, which has been very frustraing, I have been unable to really get an opprotunity to say what I want to say about Virginia and her career, so I have decided to forgo any further comments until after I can get a new computer, and offically get online in the near future. HOWEVER, before I conclude, I would like to make mention of something that I am planning to do the observe Virginia's next birthday. In previous entries I have made, I have identified myself as someone who is a firsttime author, who wishes to offer to Virginia an idea for a story that would make an interesting film project she may wish to give future consideration. While it is still my hope that I will have another opportunity to approach her with this project when it is finished, I have resigned myself to the possibility that she will not ever be interested in talking to me. BUT, due to the fact that I feel that her influence has been invaluabe in the creation process regarding this story, I would like to do something special to honor her in some way, to show that there are no hard feelings, and to let her know that somebody cares about her beyond being interested in offering her a story idea. From my reasearch, I have discovered some things about Virginia's private and public lives that I found quite disturbing, and after a great deal of thought, I have decided to show my support, as well as my gratitude, by arranging to have a PAVING BRICK being donated in her name to the WHAS CRUSADE FOR CHILDREN, a prestigious local charity that has raised MILLIONS OF DOLLARS for SPECIAL NEEDS CHILDREN over the past 50 years. The brick will be part of a WALK OF OF FAME being established in front of the WHAS-TV station building in downtown Louisville, KY. Because of Viriginia's interest in donating her spare time to help children's charities, as well as raising funds for AIDS research, she would appreciate this jesture, especially when she learns that the large bulk of funds are raised by the area's VOLUNTEER FIREFIGHTERS, because her father was a Chicago Frireman at one time. The brick will also commemorate her birhday, which falls on September 11. I hope that Virginia understands that I am not trying to invade her privacy, but because of the way I feel about what has happened, I had to do something like this, that is if I wanted to live with myself. I hope she understands. Thank you for now. Comment on this... | ||||

| by James P Brooks The following is a continuation of comments made on 11/20. Because I am limited by time on this site, I obviously am having difficulty being able to say everything I would like to say at one sitting. HOWEVER, I have discovered one advantage in that I have the opportunity in reviewing the text I am leaving here at a later time, and hopefully being able to correct what has been said, so as to avoid any misunderstandings. To begin with, I should explain what was meant when I said that Virginia Madsen was "victimized" at various times during the early part of her career, as well as later. I must admit that this word as a description is perhaps a bit too strong, though when I formally begin my comments, my hope is that you will understand my reasoning in making that declaration, because obviously there has indeed been some notable incidents that would lead anyone to believe that Virginia has not always been fairly treated. In keeping with the spirit of this website, I want it understood clearly that my comments are not meant to be PERSONAL in nature, but they are made as part of a general critique that I hope may be found to be instructive, though it is not necessary to agree with my conclusions. I WILL RETURN LATER. HAPPY THANKSGIVING !!! Comment on this... |

| by James P. Brooks What follows is a continuation of comments made on 11/19. Once again, I must apologize for monopolizing this sight, but apparently this can't be helped, so I hope I am forgiven. I also must point out that due to the fact that I am not yet online, I am limited by constraints of time as to what can be accomplished from this station. Therefore, your understanding is appreciated. In reference to my previous entry, I identified myself as someone who was interested in presenting Virginia Madsen with a project that may interest her sometime in the future, most certainly once she has satisfied her immediate professional responsibilities. While she is quite busy at this time, and while the screenplay is still left to be written, it is my hope that once this has been completed, and I have secured professinal representation, I will be allowed to approach her once again with my idea. In the meantime, I can afford to wait until she is availabe, due to the fact that some revision may be necessary in my presentation before it is ready to be seen in its finished form. Because the creative process demanded of me the need to conduct an extensive amonut of research regarding Virginia Madsen's career, I believe I am more than capable of offering comments of a constructive nature regarding many of her performances, and what led me to model the female lead character after her in this project. Before I begin my commentary, I would like to make some points that may serve as a disclaimer regarding my remarks: -I must point out that I have long held the opinion that excert for a comparative handful of more recent films, that the last decent movie came out Hollywood about 45 years ago. -The only reason I have found to recommend any film in these remarks is because Virginia Madsen is in the cast. -While some of my comments may seem to be quite critical, they are not meant to be, because as I hope to reveal in my dialouge presented here, I will express the belief that Virginia has been victimized at some points in her career by circumstances not in her control. -The opinions expressed are my own, and while I will admit some bias due to my fondness for Virginia that has developed over the time spent in the creation of my project, it is my hope that the comments made will be expressed with a candor and honesty that will hopefully command your respect, even if you find reason to disagree. -Finally, I must point out that because of my station in life, that being just a PIZZA DELIVERY DRIVER, my comments really don't matter that much in the way of things, so they can easily disregarded, but they are offered anyway because right or wrong, they are my own, and I feel the need nonetheless, to have them duly recorded somewhere. Unfortunately, my hour at this terminal seems to be up, so I must reluctantly conclude my remarks at this time. I SHALL RETURN !!! Comment on this... | ||||
