| by Jonathanfan14 I'm only 14, but I still adore Jonathan Crombie! He is my favorite actor of all time. He plays such convincing roles. When I think of Gilbert Blythe, I see Jonathan's face in my mind. I also love Megan Follows. I picture her too as Anne. I think the Anne of Green Gables stories and movies are the best I have seen. They are wholesome and family oriented so that all ages can partake of them. It's really great!!! I would recommend these movies to anyone who loves adventure, fun, and a little romance mixed in with it. They really are the greatest I've ever seen. I can watch them repeatedly. Anyone who hasn't watched the movies or read the books, do so. You won't regret it! Comment on this... | |||||||||

| by ntang I 've watched the Anne movies-since I was weee little. I can honestly say that this is the movie that I can watch over n over without getting bored. I'm not a fanatic where I'll sit and memorize names, diaolgues, etc. It's one of those stories of love that moves me, mostly because I am somewhat a romantic and the Gilbert character represents my ideal in a love. His not-so-angelic playfulness, the idea of a girl being smarter is better than a girl being prettier but not much brain to back it up, how he is so delicated to the one he loved and want to be with--which wins the girl's heart, though it may have taken her a long time to realize the love. As I've gotten older, I'd like to think a bit wiser, I saw the movie last night and it made me cry, for the first time. Anne reminded me very much of myself when I was younger; I beat every boy in every sport in my neighborhood in my school. I attended all the extra activities the city offered b/c though I came to the US with no english and to excel through my own perserverence to achive. I now wonder about some of my 'buddies' who had been boys and the 'gal buddies' I lost because of guys, but I never understood the guy-girl thing until I notice it, barely, late in high school and actually experienced it in college. I guess you can say that I had finally found out why the Anne movies had atracted me all those years and still do and why Gilbert had always stood in my mind---because he was what I imagined of the romance in finding the one I was destined for. I like Crombie, I guess, because he portrayed that character so well that one perhaps hopes he could be the same person in real life....would that be exciting. I know a guy in CANADA who told me there wasn't much in PE Island but rain, but nonetheless I would like to see it for myself, someday. Crombie has grown from a cutie teen to a very handsome man, I have to admit. Also, I would like to find out more about him, perhaps see some of his recent works on stage. I'd be willing to travel to Canada, yes, just to see him perform. By the way...looks and brains aren't a bad combination, so I've been told Comment on this... |
