Gail Russell Forum

| by Horace Beach Some people would like to go back in time to see an event or some historical person. I would like to travel back just to see Gail Russell in person. Her haunting beauty will forever amaze me. She had the most beautiful sad eyes that I will ever see. Back in time, 1 would have done my utmost to discover what haunted her, and tried to fix it, so that her ultimate end would have been a more pleasant and fullfiling one. Being a negro, I do not how much influence I could have had, but I would have tried anyway. I will always endeavour to collect every movie that she was in, no matter how small the part she played. Gail, you will always be pleasantly remembered by me. Comment on this... |

| by STEVEN OCHOA Just a few comments regarding Gail Russell. The first thing a person noticed upon meeting her were those extraordinary eyes. Lovely sapphire blue that seemed to pierce ones very soul. Add to this a head of luxurious raven black hair. When Gail spoke, it was always with a soft, gentle tone. It was as if the sound of her own voice frightened her. There were a lot of actresses as lovely as Gail, but there was not one more beautiful. She was one of a kind, and we shall not see her like again. I always look forward to seeing her films on TV,DVDs or cinema retrospectives. As long as we remember someone, they never really die. They will always live in our hearts, our minds, and in our cherished memories. May that lovely lady, Gail Russell, Rest in Peace. Your devoted fan, Steven Ochoa. Comment on this... |

| by odelyn Her distinctive beauty served to validate her performances....I'll always remember her role in the "The Uninvited"...the song, Stella By Starlight, from the film was a haunting melody that so described her. Whenever I hear it, I think of her...a fitting tribute to her. Comment on this... |

| by Darrell Moore I have adored Gail Russell since I saw Henry Aldrich gets Glamour, Lady in the Dark, The Uninivited, Our Hearts Were Young and Gay and always marveled at her beauty and talent. I wish someone would write an in depth biography about her life so more people could become aware of her and remember her as someone special whose light shone briefly but intensley. | by Owen Loney Thanks for this Gail Russell web site and forum. Gail Russell was the most attractive female ever to grace the Hollywood scene. What a tragedy she passed away so young. Gail did a top performance with John Wayne in "The Angel and The Badman" (1947). Great to see so many Gail Russell tribute sites appearing on the Internet. | by sigi chang I will remember Gail Russell from her 1946 movie which I saw recently on television, "Wake of the Red Witch," with John Wayne as her co-star. Ms. Russell was a beauty, tortured from the inside and no doubt dealing with the "Hollywood System," which uses up its beauties, and throws them away as they age. Especially back then. She received no compassion or practical help from them. They left her alone to die. We don't remember much the people of "the system," but we remember Gail Russell. Comment on this... |
