Skeet Ulrich was born in Lynchburg, Virginia. The actor's childhood nickname was
Skeeter, which he received from a Little League coach who said he was tiny, like a mosquito. He decided to shorten it to
Skeet when he saw a TV movie featuring a character with that name. Ulrich studied acting at New York's Atlantic Theater Company, an Off-Broadway insitution founded by
David Mamet and
William H. Macy. His television credits include the series
