Marina Sirtis is the ships counselor on Star Trek: TNG, a half-human, half-alien (Betazoid) empath with the ability to read emotions and sense what is happening around her.

Sirtis co-starred in the films Star Trek: Generations and Star Trek: First Contact. Her other film credits include The Wicked Lady, Death Wish III, Blind Date and The Thief of Baghdad.

Prior to the highly successful television series Star Trek; The Next Generation, Sirtis distinguished herself in her native London in the theatre and on television in such popular British series as Minder and Haze, and by starring in the critically acclaimed telefilm The Last Chance. After attending the Royal Shakespeare Company-affiliated Guild Hall of Music and Drama School, Sirtis appeared with a variety of European companies such as Coventry Reps production of The Hunchback of Notre Dame in the role of Esmerelda and in The Rocky Horror Picture Show as Magenta. Sirtis made her critically acclaimed American theatre debut in Hartford Stage's production of Loot.

Sirtis can be heard on the musical CD Seven Deadly Zeus, the most recent offering by the group Styx.
