Madeleine Stowe most recently starred opposite Mel Gibson in Paramount's We Were Soldiers for writer-director Randall Wallace. She also starred in Franchise Pictures Avenging Angelo for director Martin Burke, opposite Sylvester Stallone, and in the miniseries The Magnificent Ambersons directed by Alfonso Ara.

Growing up in California, Stowe studied journalism and theater at USC. Her feature film debut was in the comedy-thriller Stakeout, co-starring Richard Dreyfuss. She has gone on to play opposite some of Hollywood's most sought after leading men including: Daniel Day Lewis in the Oscar-nominated epic adventure The Last of the Mohicans, directed by Michael Mann; Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt in Terry Gilliam's Twelve Monkeys; William Hurt and Kenneth Branagh in The Proposition; and John Travolta in The General's Daughter. She also starred in Dimension Film's Impostor, co-starring Gary Sinise and Vincent D'Onofrio.

For her performance in Robert Altman's Short Cuts she earned the Best Supporting Actress Award from the National Society of Film Critics. In addition, Stowe has delivered a variety of roles in films such as Unlawful Entry, Closet Land, Revenge, The Two Jakes, China Moon and Bad Girls. Her most recent work includes starring roles in The General's Daughter and Playing by Heart, where she co-starred with Sean Connery, Dennis Quaid, Angelina Jolie and Gena Rowlands.

Stowe currently divides her time between Los Angeles and her ranch in Texas, which she shares with husband and fellow actor, Brian Benben, and daughter, May.
