Louise Brooks Forum

by Torrent In my (highly scientific) opinion, Louise Brooks is the most beautiful creature to date. There seems to be a secret/aspect in her that Brooks might have never shown to anyone, yet I do think that the very existence of this secret shines through her eyes on every image that perpetuated this unique kind of beauty. Let's remind ourselves that we can find acceptable beauty on every single corner, behind every single bush, on every single website. Okay, almost. In my reality though, nothing comes close to the tornado Brooks blows me away as. To me, she seems to be a pretty much flawless rendition of a masterfully conceived cartoon invention, made though of human flesh and human spirit. This is the real thing. As scientific admirer of female forms and qualities, I constantly do seek if anyone comes close to her. Not to me. The world is full of truly beautiful women, yet, there is a part in Brooks's beauty that puts her WAY BEYOND beauty. She makes beauty look bad. Playful. A killer. A child. A tornado. A rampant woman in every sense of the word. I tend to think that she wasn't just out of the '30s, she was out of this Earth, too. And, by the way, I'm kind of a fan of her, too. Comment on this...

by Sam Metaphysical beauty? Give me a break. She was cute. A little androgynous, but cute. Kind of talented but not incredibly. Get over it. Comment on this...

by James Harley To my mind, Louise Brooks was the most beautiful, intelligent and admirable woman to have apppeared on the silver screen. Her beauty is absolutely unearthly. By 'unearthly' I mean this: whereas you and I might be nothing more than an accidental collocation of atoms, Louise Brooks's beauty is powerfully suggestive of an intelligent mind at work in the universe. In other words, a beauty of this incomparable order is surely more than just a 'lucky hit'. In Louise Brooks's case, if God actually exists then he got it spectacularly right. So where does this leave the rest of us? Well, let's be honest here and admit the painful truth - next to her, we are all just botched efforts. Comment on this...
