I am now 60 years of age and as we all get older, I think it is needful to tell people that you have admired how you feel about them. whether you ever see this e-mail or not, I do not know. I am from Mississippi in the heart of the south and I grew up in a very troubled time in my state, but where I lived was very rural, quite poor, and the few blacks that lived there with us were just the most wonderful people in the world; therefore, my heart has always had a real love for the black race and I never had the hate , etc. that so many seemed consumed by from that day and time. Do you ever come to the south or have any realtives in this part of the world? I have read your biography and I so admire your courage and strength to have moved from Chicao to California with three children as a single mom.
