A Kay Francis Fan (Tue Jul 12, 2005 3:56pm ET)report post
by Nancy Jones
I have been an avid Kay Francis fan for six years. I seen her
in the movie, "One Way Passage", and I said to myself, "that lady is so beautiful! From then on I tried to find everything I could about her. I have found books at my local library with little stories on her. I have searched the internet, and found so many articles, and photos of her. I thought she was just as beautiful or more beautiful than Joan Crawford, Myrna Loy, Bette Davis, Jean Harlow. I liked her short hair, when she first went to Hollywood, and her
husky voice. She was so cool, hip, and just fabulous!

I was a child when I saw Cousin Kay at a gar-
den party, hosted by my second cousin E.P. Curtis, in Rochester NY.
Mr. Osborne will not acknowledge my letters to
the effect that she married, in order to increase
social prominence, my also somewhat removed
cousin, Dwight Francis.
None of the skimpy bios that I can find even
mention her marriage, change of name, etc.
Incidentally, at the outdoor garden party amid
all the pastels, Cousin Kay wore black, and had
a hat whose brim reached beyond her shoul-
ders so noone could see if she kissed anyone.
I have always had my doubts.

Please alert Sr. Osborne. Beg him to listen to some of the other deathless stories I can tell.

Warmest regards,

Elettra
