Claudia Schiffer
Upon concluding an unprecedented six year deal with Revlon, Schiffer signed a prestigious long term deal with L'Oreal to become their ambassador and international spokesperson for cosmetics, make-up and hair.
The native German began her modeling career in 1987 when she was discovered in a German discotheque while still a student. It was not long before she landed the coveted Guess? campaign, which made her the most sought-after model in the world.
Schiffer appeared in her first feature film, Abel Ferrara's The Blackout opposite Matthew Modine, Beatrice Dalle and Dennis Hopper. The Blackout was shown at a special screening at the 1997 Cannes International Film Festival. She was most recently seen in Friends and Lovers opposite Robert Downey Jr. and recently completed production on Shiny New Enemies opposite Salma Hayek, Jeff Goldblum, David Hyde Pierce and Steven Zahn.
In addition to her editorial work for magazines throughout the world, Schiffer has strutted the runways for all the top designers and has been featured in campaigns for Chanel, where for seven years she was the muse for Karl Lagerfeld, Versace, Valentino and Ralph Lauren among others. She began her involvement with UNICEF by becoming a member of the Arts and Entertainment Support Committee, and has also published two books - a pictorial entitled Memories and a black and white coffee table book photographed by designer Karl Lagerfeld.
