Well then it's a good thing he retired at 62, because his kind of acting was passe. A shame Cary never came out of the closet, but it was more difficult then.

I think he retired because he did not feel comfortable acting in romantic movies and being old. It's a good choice and a respect to his public and himself. Cary Grant was not gay so please respect him and his memory and stop rumours which were never proved.

If he is so passe, how come he was voted top no. 1 and 2 by the AFI and Premeire Magazine as late as 2005. Are you out of the closet?

Cary Grant was (IN MY OPINION) and many other the GREATEST ACTOR of the silver screen. NO other actor had as much charm, grace and dignity as Cary Grant. No one will ever match up to his talents and looks. Defiantely NO star of today...........;( yucko. Cary is missed greatly. I believe if he could see some of today's stars and movies he'd be disgusted. In fact he said in a biography that he didn't like today's movies and he didn't know if he would do them even if his career depended on it! GO CARY!!!!!!!

I'm a BIG CARY FAN!

Grant was the ultimate handsome self-effacing leading man who happened to be very funny. He always"got" the girl but never quite knew what to do with her. He also never quite knew what to do with his hands but we forgive him because he was ultimately the most beloved star in Hollywood.

The ultimate "tall, dark and handsome" leading man. He was fabulous in the screwball comedies but yet so moving in my favourite film of his; "The Bishops' Wife". One of the truly 'GREAT' actors.
