I want to share something with you guys which is an auction of an original prop used in the production of one of her best movies. I'm sure some of you would like to own something used in one of her films. It's gonna be at Planet Hollywood in Vegas on June 21st 2008. http://global01.auctionnetwork.vfx.com/UpcomingItem.asp?EventId=5283 Just thought you guys might be interested. | by Nancy Tannenbaum Barbara Stanwyck was the most versatile actress American filmmaking has ever known. Whether it was drama, comedy, or noir, Stanwyck was always sincere, tough, vulnerable, and utterly believeable. She was consistently overlooked for the Oscar because, as we should all know by now, Hollywood is a lonely town and the race for the Oscar is an excercise in tinseltown politics. Stanwyck was so good at her craft that she was taken for granted. She was independent and smart and had little use for popularity contests. I have always loved her....admired her....she stands far above the rest....even those considered her peers could learn a lot from her. I love you, Miss Barbara Stanwyck. Comment on this... |

| by Melissa This is a remarkable actress who should have won atleast on academy award (more in my opinion) in her life time. Her acting was on cue and I enjoyed every film she was in. Barbara also had a compassion off film, as well as on, that honored her "Queen" by co- workers. What a true gem she is, besides Katharine Hepburn, and my most favorite. They don't make actresses like this anymore. Support film preservation. Katharine Hepburn - 1907-2003 Bob Hope - 1903-2003 Comment on this... |
