scarface is his best (Sun Aug 19, 2007 6:25am ET)report post
by tony montana word
Hw was great in the godfather, but his best ever was scarface.
Usually, there is a theme to every film you see a motto if you will. Often, this motto is spoken within the film by one of it's characters. In the case of Scarface, Tony Montana lays out the film in one statement: "In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women."

audio quote:
http://www.thescarfaceworld.com/scarfacequotes/scarface03.wav

Tony Montana, a Cuban immigrant and one of many criminals sent to the United States in 1980 by Fidel Castro claiming political asylum. He starts off as small time crook and works his way up to big time drug dealer in Miami.

you hate him and you love him in the same time....

some video scenes from the movie:

al is the outstanding definition of what I call "razamataz", the edge, the presence whereby in any film he takes control.
Frank Sinatra had it, George Clooney has it, but theirs applies to only one charcter, just with a different name and setting.
In Scarface he wasn't Al Pacino playing Tony Montana,in scarface he WAS Tony Montana, he WAS the durg lord, he HAD it all.
Other actors have to do something to act. Most critics would argue that his role is in the eyes, that's incorrect, it's everything he does; blinking, breathing, standing, no one, not Robert De Niro, not Morgan Freeman, no one can possibly hope to match this artists body language.

Whoowa!!! (Mon Sep 4, 2006 5:44am ET)report post
by Jordan Marks
al pacino is one of my favourite actors. He has made so many great preformanced like dog day afternoon, Godfather series and...and justice for all. sea of love is one of the best thrillers around, heat with de niro was just a dream team for me, scent of a woman which was just "whoowa!!!" and scarface was wicked awesome. His best preformance was in serpico. I love that film so much. If the godfather made him famous then serpico skyrocketed his fame. I love his bold brown eyes which have so much character and his strong yet unique voice that works in all his films. pacino will aways be on my list. I would love it if he made another film with the great robert de niro

Anyway, just thought I might let you all know that in Australia thy are haivng a charity auction and a signed Al Pacino chair is being auctioned.

Dont know much else about it, but the website is www.chairsforcharity.com.au, I think you can bid online or get someone to bid for you on the night.
