To commemorate the anniversary of Richard Harris’s death, Charlie St George Pub are hosting a week long celebration of his life by holding a series of events and the highlight would have to be the unveiling of the Wall of Memories which will consist of signed memorabilia and photographs of the highs and lows of Richard’s very colourful career and life.

Charlie St George is the first Public House in Limerick to dedicate an area to Richard Harris’s Life.

We will be a showing films of Richard’s that not many people would have seen before like “The Red Desert” in which there is a cameo appearance of Limerick’s own Desmond O’Grady.

There will be an evening with Mark Whelan who wrote poetry to coincide with Five Tribute Exhibitions that artist Thomas Delohery did to honour the late and great Richard Harris.

The Quiz Night will be about Richard’s life, career and his two major loves Limerick City and Munster Rugby.

An Exhibition of Paintings of Richard Harris by Clare Artist Thomas Delohery, never before displayed in public until now.

The Programme of Events

Wednesday 21st Oct

6.00PM - 9.00PM - Bull McCabe Lookalike Competition - 1st Prize (2 Kegs of Party Beer)

Thursday 22nd Oct

8.00PM - Quiz Night - Quiz Master (Mr Leo Shine)

Friday 23rd Oct

4.30PM - Film Club - (A short video introduction into Richards films followed by “Wrestling Ernest Hemingway) - Hosted Declan McLoughlin

Saturday 24th Oct

6.00PM - Poetry Recital by Mark Whelan - An Exhibition of Paintings of Richard Harris by Clare Artist Tom Delohery

Sunday 25th Oct

3.00PM - Official unveiling of the “Wall of Memories”

I just found out today that this great actor died just before Halloween. However, I can't find anywhere HOW he died.
My b/f thinks old age, but...
If anybody knows, PLEEEEEEASE email me and answer this important question.
I don't get on this website much, so if you just post a reply I may never get it.

Hi,

From what I understand, Mr. Harris had been battling cancer for quite some time. I want to say cancer of the liver, but I'm not exactly sure.

He was my favorite actor of all time. I fell in love with him at the age of 10 (I'm 48 now) and I can't believe he is gone. He will live in my heart forever.

I JUST FOUND THIS WEBSITE. I TOO FELL IN LOVE WITH RICHARD HARRIS AND I WAS 11. I WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO MEET HIM IN PERSON IN 1987. HE WAS WONDERFUL AND CHARMING AND GAVE ME A HUG AND A KISS WHICH I TREASURE TO THIS DAY. I AM ALSO LUCKY ENOUGH TO HAVE IT ON VIDEO TAPE. WHEN HE DIED, THAT BIT OF MAGIC IN MY LIFE WAS GONE. I WAS JUST IN LIMERICK, IRELAND THIS PAST WEEK AND WENT TO THE PUB, "CHARLIE ST. GEORGE" WHICH WAS A FAVORITE OF HIS AND THEY HAD A WALL DEDICATED TO HIM WITH PICTURES, ETC. I WENT TO LIMERICK JUST TO FIND THAT PUB AND WAS SUCCESSFUL. I MISS HIM AS HIS ANNIVERSARY APPROACHES ON THE 25TH OF THIS MONTH. RIP DEAR RICHARD. Sad
