I Am Legend (2007)

A very nice collectible, with reference quality picture and sound for Blu-Ray.

This is a very nice box set collection for I Am Legend. It has 3 disks total, 1 disk with the theatrical version, 1 disk with the extended cut and altranate ending, and the final disk is a digital copy. If you liked this title, and you enjoy lot's of extras, this will be a great purchase for you. Lot's of great stuff on the disks as well as a cool book with movie and production photos.

As with the first release of I am Legend, this title is pretty much perfect in the audio and video department. There are no flaws that I can see. It has a razor sharp presentation. Super clean and vivid picture. The colors are spot on, the details of the city are amazing in their full scope. Facial features are super clean and show amazing detail on every shot. The special effects really come through well. This movie has many CGI effects which look super detailed. The daytime shots look great, the blacks are super deep and dark and hold up perfectly. The skintones are right on also, they do not look waxey in any way. High Def Digest says that with the 2 versions being on seperate disks, the video does get a bitrate jump on picture. I really cant notice any difference. They both look and sound perfect to me. I just bought this because my first copy was free, and I loved the movie itslef. It looks great on Blu-Ray!

As for the sound.....top notch all the way around. The dialogue is crisp and clean. The action scenes are awesome. All of your speakers including your subwoofer get a good workout from start to finish. Great surround effects for your rear speakers too. Many 5.1 soundtracks dont use the rear speakers to their full potential. This title does a great job in the sound department all the way around. Top notch once again!

The big difference in this set is designed for the fan who loves extras. Not just making of documantaries, but books, postcards and a nice box set look. This may not be worth the money for everyone. But....for those who really liked this film, it is pretty cool. I have watched it several times and will do so in the future. I was a big fan of The Omega Man from the 70's. I was glad to see this re-make get released. I just think it is a cool concept. December 1, 2008

While this movie may not be a fav of all, this pack is not for them. This is for the fans of the film that want more. WB delivered on what was asked. It is a great movie (with the alt ending). September 22, 2008

You must be kidding..

A movie this limp and nonessential gets THIS type of "star" treatment? You can stuff a huge box with as many discs and extras as you want but it doesn't make the movie any better. I Am Legend is simply "meh" no matter what type of spiffy box art is designed for it. Definite PASS on this one. September 20, 2008
