rating: 5 Quotewhat a great movieQuote
i bought the first release of this that was all region and it was amazing! truly one of the best films i've ever seen with no exaggeration. its a historical epic about three war generals who slowly break apart through love betrayel and ideals. now, i think the version being released on august 12 is the one that will be released in america officially instead of an all region dvd like all the others. i dont know if there going to cut this film at all (i hope not because its great!!!) but they usually cut films before they get to america. anyway this is jet lis epic film that finally gets him away from the martial artist theme(not that thats bad but i kinda like this new jet li). this is very, very good. definitly worth it to own. the visuals are incredible, taking place mostly in the dry grasslands of china but still balancing with the second half of the movie that takes place in rainy ancient chinese citys. the weather definitly changes with the mood in a fantastic way. definitly worth the buy. its predicted to take the oscers by storm next year!!! andy lau is great and takashi kenshiro has his best preformence i've ever seen! its really a shining example of film in every aspect. it will join with the classics.
