About So I Married an Axe Murderer

Comedy sensation Mike Myers stars with Nancy Travis in this hatchet-driven romantic comedy about a wedlock-shy coffee house poet who finally meets the perfect woman. When it comes to love Charlie Mackenzie (Myers) has had his share of bad luck: Sherrie was a klepto-Charlie still can't find his cat. Jill was unemployed-but Charlie knew she really worked for the Mafia. Pam smelled like soup-beef vegetable soup. Good thing for Charlie these shortcomings became apparent if only to him. Good thingfor Charlie he discovered the truth before things went too far-before he stumbled into MARRIAGE! Because to Charlie the "M" word is just one step away from the fate foretold in that chilling phrase: "Till death do us part." When Charlie meets Harriet Michaels (Travis) everything changes. Harriet's not like the others. She's smart sexy and crazy about Charlie. This time Charlie is determined to overcome the fears that sabotaged his past relationships. This time he's ready for some commitment.Sure Harriet may have her shortcomings-but so what? After all those other women what's the worst she could be? An axe murderer?System Requirements:Running Time: 93 minutesFormat: BLU-RAY DISC Genre: COMEDY/ROMANTIC COMEDY Rating: PG-13 UPC: 043396257337 Manufacturer No: 25733 Product Description

I really enjoy this movie ao when I heard there was a SE of it coming out on Blu-Ray I pre-ordered it ASAP. But after getting the disc and seeing there were ZERO Features on the disc. No Commentary, No Deleted Scenes I was very let down. Good Picture for its age. Gave the disc a 4 since I enjoy the movie so much. August 11, 2008

Just prior to Mike Meyer's huge success with Austin Powers he starred in this funny as heck flick. If you're a fan of Mike, this is not to be missed. Great fun! June 23, 2008

So as a fan of this movie since it came out, I upgraded to have it on Blu-Ray and watch it in high definition on my 52" screen, as my old DVD is sorely dated.

#1 0 special features, that really sucked, couldn't even put the trailer from the first DVD on there?

#2 I can't get it to play again. I watched it once, and it has some kind of loading screen when starting, but after watching it last night when I bought it, it will no longer start, it comes up with the loading screen and never goes past it.

Buyer beware, this is on the Sony PS3 with the latest firmware (2.36) June 19, 2008

rating: 4 QuoteAn overlooked comedy, and a pretty nice looking film from 1993. Quote
When judging the quality of a movie, one does have to consider what the studio has to work with. Of course, titles like Casablanca, 2001 A Space Odyssey and other greats of American cinema, will alway's be given priority when it comes to restoration and preservation. But many popular movies from the 80's and 90's that were not considered classics or even blockbuster's will take a back seat. This title is not perfect by any means, but it does look very nice overall. First off, the picture quality will surely satisfy most Blu-Ray lovers. The skin tones are right on. The colors are very good overall. They are accurate and stable throughout. Detail is very good to average. It does not jump out at you, but it very good considering this is not an A list movie. The blacks are very nice and stable throughout the entire film. There is a bit of mileage on this negative though. It does not appear to be remastered. It does show it's age, although 15 years is hardly old. There are minor artifacts and small blemishis from time to time. But, it does not take away from this film's overall quality. A good effort in my opinion. Better than expected actually.

Many people do not look to comedies for "reference quality" viewing. Would a million dollar restoration have helped? Yes. But,this will never happen. So with that said, you will be happy with this title for overall quality. Sound is not much of an issue on this one. I cant remember a single instance where it stood out in any way. Once again.....it does it's job. Voices are clean and clear. Without distractions of any kind. If you are a Mike Myers fan, before Austin Powers that is. You will enjoy this comedy in the tradition of many 80's greats comedies. June 19, 2008
