This will take you back a while, it is very funny. Even my adult kids love this movie August 25, 2008

As a kid, the Batman movie and TV series captivated me as it all seemed so high tech and real. Watching this movie as an adult gives a new perspective and appreciation. I find myself laughing at things I didn't as a kid, either because the actors were trying to make you laugh, or because it is so campy and silly. This is a nostalgic trip back to the 60's when Batman wasn't "dark" like it is in the current movie series.

Picture quality was excellent for a movie of this age on blu ray. It won't stand up to the latest films in PQ, but for what it is, I was surprised and satisfied.

I think the original movie's soundtrack was mono and they have done a good job of making improvements to it, but it's difficult at best to make a real surround track from a mono source. It's an improvement over mono, but it's not on par with picture quality.

They've done a great job "modernizing" this film for blu ray. The bonus features are great and there is an interactive "tour" of the Batmobile that's slick.

Because I grew up with Adam West as Batman, he'll always be Batman to me. If you remember the movie and series fondly from your youth, then you should add this title to your blu ray collection. August 23, 2008

I am a HUGE fan of the Adam West Batman TV show and keep wishing they would release all three seasons on DVD. Until then, this movie satisfies my need for Batman in a big way. It is a HOOT!

Although it's campy, it still has more heart, excitement, imagination and pure enjoyment than both of the "ultra-realistic" Chris Nolan Bat Ninja Commando films (which I hate) combined.

Get away from all that soul-sucking "Dark(Knight)ness" and see what a GREAT Batman film is like. Get this today. August 21, 2008

Although this Batman movie was more camp than any of the others, It was done well and deserves a place in every Batfan's collection. This movie is based on the 60's TV series that ran the same Bat time, every Bat week on Tue and Thu nights. The Blueray edition makes it really enjoyable. The cast is all star, worth getting. I knew, at some point, I'd be getting around to reviewing this movie. Batman-The Movie is a 1966 spin-off film of the Batman television series. It was the first full-length theatrical adaptation of the DC Comics character. It's directed by series director Leslie H. Martinson(PT 109, Rescue From Gilligan's Island) and stars: Adam West, Burt Ward, Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, Frank Gorshin, Lee Meriwether, Alan Napier, Neil Hamilton, Stafford Repp & Reginald Denny(in his last role). The plot goes a little something like this...Batman and Robin get a tip that Commodore Schmidlapp is in danger aboard his yacht & they launch a rescue mission. The tip, however, is a set-up by four of the most powerful villains ever who seek to defeat the Dynamic Duo once and for all! Armed with a dehydrator that can turn humans into dust the foursome intends to take over the world and it is up to our heroes to foil their plans. Although I really don't like the campiness of it, it is an enjoyable movie. One that bat-fans will want to add to their collections. For the asking price, you can't go wrong with this one. It even has some added features that weren't on the original release of this movie back in 2001(like the Adam West, Burt Ward featurette & commentary). I really like it and you will too.

After watching this, I really wish they would bring out an official release of the television series on DVD. August 7, 2008
