About A HEN IN THE WIND Yasujiro Ozu
Ozu revisits his themes on postwar Japan with a storyline similar to Ozu's own Woman of Tokyo. With her husband away at the frontline of the battlefield, a young mother has to support her family all by herself. In order to save her ailing son, the young mother was forced to prostitute herself for one night. Upon her husband's return from the war, she honestly told him what had happened. However, her husband responds with a shocking and physical savagery that is so atypical of Ozu. Tanaka and Sano ignite these complex and tortures roles with profound humanism. Product Description
