Bought the collection from [...]...I ordered the Sense and Sensibility Collection with the following three films: Sense and Sensibility, Persuasion, and Miss Austen Regrets. I only received Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion. After speaking with Sandeep Kumar and returning the collection with the missing film, I received the same exact collection without Miss Austen Regrets. After speaking with Chai D., I was only refunded $[...], when I paid for about $[...] for all three films. If the price of three films is $[...], then I should have been able to receive $[...]. After years of being a loyal customer to Amazon, I felt that I could have done better with a different service. As a Legal Assistant in a law firm, I will discuss this matter with the attorneys I work for, and will continue to spread the word about this disservice. May 9, 2008
Jane Austen movies
I loved the new version, and I am glad I bought it. :) Most versions of this novel have been skewed and done in such a way that I lose interest in the storyline. But with this new version, I was glad that the director decided to stick as close to Ms. Austen's book as possible. May 9, 2008
Persuasion 2007
Great casting, best characters I've seen. Shortens story, changes what may be essential plot lines for Austin fans but a not to be missed version. May 8, 2008
Wonderful Set / Fresh Actors
This Collector's set is a must for good, clean (as my wife says Girlie movies) but so historically accurate most men will enjoy the quick whit and charm of the interaction between sexes. Read the history of Jane Austen and you will get a feel for the attitudes towards romances during the time of writing in the early 1800's although she was not really published until 1850's. A different concept as Jane Austen tells her sister "Marry for love, not for money". This was contrary to the cultural more at that time that freed and women and her family from poverty. May 8, 2008
ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE
These versions are MOST EXCELLENT even though the earlier "Persuasion" with Ciarin Hinds and then Emma Thompson,Alan Rickman and Hugh Grant's,"Sense and Sensibility" are hard to surpass. "Miss Austin Regrets" was a wonderful perspective on the life of Jane Austin. I will watch these versions again and again! May 6, 2008
