You think people would learn by now.If it LOOKS like a redneck,inbred,beastiality practicing,psycho,hillbilly and SOUNDS like a redneck,inbred,beastiality practicing,psycho,hillbilly and ACTS like a redneck,inbred,beastiality practicing,psycho,hillbilly...it probably IS a redneck,inbred,beastiality practicing,psycho,hillbilly.

It is never a good idea to trespass and/or break and enter into these peoples homes. If your boat becomes stranded in a storm because you feel the need to take your lady friend/wife miles up a secluded irrigation inlet while you are out on a boating trip like this couple, use common sense. If you are crazy enough to break into the above redneck, inbred, beastiality practicing, psycho, hillbilly's domicile, and you find a back shed full of marijuana plants, get the hell out. There is only one thing worse than a redneck, inbred, beastiality practicing psycho,hillbilly....a DRUG USING,redneck, inbred, beastiality practicing, psycho, hillbilly.

But seriously, this premise has been done to death. While the acting in this movie is good,I just can't get past the basic story.I bought this movie because I liked some of the other dimension extreme films, but this one just didnt do it for me. September 28, 2008

This movie is a great thrill ride.It kept me totally intuned, very provacative.A look into the depravity of mankind. The level of humiliation the victims must indure is disturbing. I loved the spin on this movie. An excellent addition to my collection. August 31, 2008

If you are a fan of the horror sub-genre where "city folks" get tormented by whacko rednecks, then you will love this movie. In the style of "I Spit on Your Grave", "Savage Island", "Mother's Day", "The Hills Have Eyes" and so many more "Storm Warning" follows a pretty standard formula of having a yuppie city couple getting lost (this time along the Austrailian coast), and running afoul of some local maniacs.

The Good: Nadia Fares, the female star and main reason to rent this film. She is simply stunning to look at, and rises above the material, she becomes a character you really like and root for. She is fantastic, and hope she has a long career in film. Actually all of the acting is top notch. The special effects are effective when used, and the creepy setting is top notch.

The Bad: The loser boyfriend who manages to make every mistake possible. This guy was just so annoyingly stupid, he must have taken survival lessons from the heroine of "Rest Stop". I don't think he could have put himself and his girlfriend in more jeopardy if he tried. The story, which can be tense at times, has been played out. We've seen this all before and can predict how it's going to end after about 20 minutes.

The Ugly: The youngest brother lounging against his father on a couch while watching a beastiality flick!! This 20 second scene disturbed me more than anything I've seen on film in years. Effective I guess, but really disturbing.

Of course the main attraction to this kind of film, is watching the civilized couple enact their revenge against their tormentors. "Storm Warning" does not disappoint at all. The bloody, cringe inducing final 30 minutes are worth the rental price alone. Still, I'm not sure I would recommend a purchase, unless you are a fan of this type of horror film. For me, this is good for one viewing, but doubt I would watch it again. July 16, 2008

everything is really well done, from the ambient opening camera shots, to the acting, sets, and effects. its just too bad nothing happens for the first hour. the back of the case claims to be a descent into the darkest depths of human depravity or something like that. Texas Chainsaw Massacre, now thats depravity. this is just a father and his sons growing pot out in the wilderness, and when a lost couple stumbles into their little den, they know what they gotta do.

dang, didnt i see those same villains in another movie? oh yeah, Without a Paddle.. which is a comedy (ie these guys arent scarey)

the main characters are on a nice trip to see nature when a huge storm hits and forces them to dock their boat at a random spot and search for shelter, which leads them to said house. everything seems ok with these backwoods strangers, although a bit off. over time the situation begins to spiral out of control, as the couple is degraded and dehumanized. the movie ends in a bloody showdown, with 3 somewhat unique and very noteworthy gore effects(well 2, one is more implied, but still awsome)

so for horror fans that dont mind yet another backwoods family kills outsiders scenario with a really slow first hour, then by all means, check it out, deffinitely a rental though. June 24, 2008
