Ringo, thanks from a devoted fan who's loved you since 1963!! I still love to hear you sing and wail way on those drums. Please keep recording as long as you can, your true fans will always buy your awesome music. Love & Peace!!!
August 31, 2008The title song is worth the price of the album. Being a Beatlemaniac, I found the song very sentimental because it reviews Ringo's life. I also had the extreme privilege recently of seeing Ringo perform Liverpool 8 live at his All Staar concert in Radio City. This was one of my greatest experiences besides seeing the Beatles at Shea Stadium back in the day. At least at Radio City I could hear every word (unlike Shea where all we heard were the fans screaming). Ringo puts on a very professional and entertaining show and he sure knows how to pick his All Staars. After being at his concert I certainly had the urge to buy the Liverpool 8 CD and when I went online I was stunned to see the numerous albums Ringo has made since the Beatles broke up. My Ringo has been very busy! He also has a great website. From what I saw at his concert, he still certainly appeals to young and old. Looked like some of the boomers had their grandkids there and they were all having a fab time.
July 30, 2008At 68 years old we can all say it's a good thing Ringo is still in the game. However, it's another thing when the game consists of the same old repetitive songwriting formula over and over and over again. The songs are overly simplistic, lyrics are cheesy (and predictable) and his drumming is sadly nondescript. His production technique attempts to infuse the songs with the Beatle sound with backwards guitar loops, phasing vocals, etc. but the result comes across as forced and certainly rehashed and in the end this has a lot to do with the fact the songs are just flat out weak. Ringo needs to decide on what he wants to do. Does he want to make albums for the sake of making albums or does he want to put a solid, inspired product out. I don't buy the nonsense that he's "just Ringo". He was a Beatle and he himself knows he's selling himself short when he releases this type of dribble. My suggestion is he align himself with some new blood, new songwriters and some musicians with fire in their belly. Even at his age, he is capable of so much more than what he gives us on this CD. July 15, 2008To put it simple - first 3 songs are among the best ever Rigno's!
Unmistakable style & clear sound.
Great!
One thing left to say - thank you Ringo!
June 16, 2008After all these years always adorable Ringo still has us rockin and singing along. I love this CD and I agree that Ringo only gets better with time. He has been very underrated as a performer. I just bought tickets to see him and his All-Star Band when they come to Nashville and I am so excited to see my Favorite Beatle in person. I've had a crush on him since I was 7 and I will be looking forward to hearing him sing the songs on this CD as well as his other hits!
