This professionally produced DVD provides insight on numerous levels. It opens with the typical mind chatter most people engage in their everyday lives, and then turning the outcome to show how we can free ourselves from the negative thoughts we employ. Methinks the aim of the film. The film switches between the story (which is really contemporary mythology) and interviews with numerous people. This aspect of the film not only drives home the themes Hay is working with, but offers a great deal of wisdom on the Laws of thought. Perhaps the most forceful claim in the film is the dynamic of using our awareness to create positive thoughts for the sake of personal transformation and change. Further, the conversations with Hay provide a remarkable archive for the philosophy she advocate on behalf of. Since Hay is now an elder of this wisdom, it is good to document her words for prosperity. She has a lot to share and offer those of us still clinging to our reactive minds.

Everyday, I try to observe my own reactions, hopefully to heal them, and to change. Life os too short to engage in dysfunctional dramas despite the fact that our entire political system is taking us down an unsustainable road from which the outcome remains uncertain.

Hay's film provide a breath of fresh air against the narrow agendas of those running the global show.

Drink deep, because these waters are pristine. July 16, 2008

I much prefer the DVD of THE SECRET. However, there is good information here as well. Specifically, in the second disc of the expanded version. The second disc has the complete interviews that are interspersed as fragments in the "movie" that is disc 1. If you're going to purchase the DVD, please do yourself a favor and purchase the EXPANDED version. June 13, 2008

Just an awesome job on this DVD. Top notch production. I'm proud to own this inspiring movie in my spiritual library. Good for the soul. Show it to others, especially persons who are ready to be enlightened. I don't bother with Hollywood fluff movies unless they have an uplifting message, which are few and far between. The masses are craving for something more soulful and substantiative, even though perhaps most of them don't even realize it. Hay productions please give us more!! April 28, 2008

Louise Hay is a light to everyone around her. The video is a graphic visual metaphor for anyone who is ready to take the first step towards overcoming obstacles in their life. It doesn't give you all the answers because the truth is that no one can answer another's LIFE question. Be prepared to start feeding your soul on a regular basis with positivity from as many different sources as you can. The same way people feed their bodies, they also need to feed their spirit or it will starve. Louise Hay has a beautiful, generous spirit. Applying the principles of You Can Heal Your Life (the movie, book, audiobook, meditations etc) does create positive change, does nourish the spirit and truly does lead to self-healing...once one COMMITS to oneself and CHOOSES to take the steps. *****
This wonderful film is 1:25 long, and its theme is that if you change your thinking, you can change your life, especially via affirmations. You generate emotional power behind the affirmations, and then take actions that support the affirmations.

The film also contains Louise Hay's moving personal story. It includes a parallel drama with the story, interspersed with the commentators---somewhat in the style of "What the Bleep", but the drama is much less a focus, and the interviewees more of a focus.

There is much more specific information here on how to work with affirmations. People that are interviewed as a part of the DVD are Louise Hay, Wayne Dyer, Esther & Jerry Hicks, Gregg Braden, Gay Hendricks, Dr. Christiane Northrup, Doreen Virtue, Cheryl Richardson, Candice Pert, Dr. Mona Lisa Schulz, Leon Nacson, and Elon Bomani. Here are some sample quotes:

"We have control over the experience of our life, if not the events of our life."---Christiane Northrup.

"Anything you complain about repetitively is something you have an unconscious desire to produce."---Gay Hendricks

The material also explores forgiveness, healing, wholeness, emotional health and feelings, self-love, self-acceptance, and self-worth.

Much of the beautiful music on the DVD is done by Jim Brickman.

I highly recommend this DVD. However, if you are a fan of Louise Hay's work, I would suggest that you buy her DVD set by the same title (two DVDs, called "Expanded Version" on Amazon). The expanded version includes extras that many people will want, although it costs twice as much. I have also reviewed the expanded version, so if that interests you more, read about the extras there. However, if you are just looking for the movie, and/or want to save some money, you'll be thrilled with the basic film alone, I'm sure.

Highly recommended.
