"Attack of the Crab Monsters" was a popular television staple back in the 1960s. In the last 40 years the film has been rarely shown, especially when the (now defunct) Allied Artists' television syndication packages expired. This example of Roger Corman's low budget inventiveness is often remembered with a feeling of nostalgia. Unfortunately, the Apex DVD has some of the worst image quality I've ever seen on DVD. The DVD contains Allied Artist's U.S. television version, which was padded to 70 minutes, which looks like is was copied from a poor quality public domain videocassete which was mastered from a well used 16mm print. This DVD appears to have been copied from a VHS tape. The recording quality is horrendous. Almost unwatchable. Please stay clear. June 30, 2008

No one will purchase Roger Corman's "Attack of the Crab Monsters" thinking they are getting a James Cameron or Ridley Scott film. But you should expect to receive a DVD that is watchable; this one is not.

No menu, a horrible video transfer that makes an amateur YouTube video look like a Spielberg film by comparison, and the soundtrack so poor it accurately replicates the audio science of two tin cans and a twenty-foot piece of string.

I first watched this movie as a 10-year-old sci-fi/monster movie geek and loved it. Alone in the dark, the inexplicably intelligent giant crabs accomplished the film's goal of scareing me beyond reason. I still won't pick up a crab!

Hoping to relive my childhood memories I looked forward to watching the DVD of "Attack of the Crab Monsters" expecting cheesy special effects, over-emotive performances and crab monsters to make me question how I could ever find them frightening.

Instead what I received was a DVD that I think was hastily copied by the shipping guy before he packaged it to send to me. You couldn't make a worse DVD transfer if you did it at home using a 10-year video camera handheld by a four-year-old child recording it off a 15" black&white rabbit-eared TV. May 30, 2008

it wasn't so bad, a typic al 50's sci-fi movie-the quality wasn't great, but it was watchable. it was just about what i expected May 30, 2008

I have purchased stuff from Amazon for a long time now and this is the first time I have been disappointed at anything I have purchased from them. While ATTACK OF THE CRAB MONSTERS is a very good movie in and of itself, the quality of this DVD was just so poor, it was virtually unwatchable, first of all, there was no menu to speak of, the menu that was there looks like it was done off a computer and the quality of the movie itself looked like something out of a second generation copy of an original video tape (a copy of a copy). too bright in some spots, too dark in others, I'm glad I only spent 11.99 for it or I'd be pissed, the two stars I gave it were for the time I gave to give this review. See my review on the Movies Unlimited Version.........Sorry Amazon, you dropped the ball on this one. May 4, 2008
