Even though I have the original 'Showgirl' DVD in my library I was very excited and moved when I got to see 'Homecoming'. For Kylie this set of concerts was some sort of resurrection, after the cancer she wanted to prove to herself that she could get back on stage and (like a pure White Diamond) shine on and on. It was also a thank you to her fans and countrymen, who were supportive through bad times.
Although the playlist (and costumes) have changed from the original version it has the same 'act 1, act 2, etc.' feeling. Kylie knows what her fans want and she delivers, her performance is impeccable and you can truly perceive her vulnerability and gratefulness towards the audience.
The Documentary will probably feel too long and pointless to people who are not familiar with Kylie, yet very human and touching for those who are. February 8, 2008

So-So Documentary...Brilliant concert

First off, I love Kylie Minogue. I lover her music. I lover her artistry. I was really excited to purchase this 2-DVD combo, but mostly for the concert. The documentary will appeal to Kylie's fan base, but not to the casual viewer. There really wasn't anything that really held my interest for too long, in fact, i didn't even finish watching the documentary in one sitting. i actually switched it off and finished watching it the next day. And it's not that I didn't like it, but sometimes it felt like it was too long and not really going anywhere. The second, disc, however, is great. This is the second version of Kylie's Showgirl tour, and while there were some major changes to the show, I think there should have been even more (did we really need "Over The Rainbow" again?) But nonetheless, it's a great watch. January 17, 2008

White Diamond/Homecoming = Fabulous!!

As much as fans will compare the Homecoming Live show to the orginal Showgirl Greatest Hits tour, I will step in and inform buyers that "Homecoming" only has minor changes to the orginal SG tour. This was for her Australian fans as we know,she did fall majorly ill from breast cancer just before the Australian leg of the orginal SG tour.
New costumes, new arrangements, new songs (White Diamond) and features a number songs that were exclusive singles for the Australian market.
This show is Kylie at her best live in concert at Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne Park in her hometown of Melbourne AUSTRALIA.

The doco "White Diamond" gives you an all access inside peak at Kylie behind closed doors. From preparing the Homecoming tour through to coming back to Australia and performing the shows that she couldnt back on 2005. Make sure you have some kleenex on hand as there are some tear jerking moments as well as some moments that will make you laugh so hard you'll have tears rolling.

This is a must buy for all Kylie fans!! January 4, 2008
