I had not seen the show on TV, but heard good things about it. Bought the dvd and was not disappointed. Imaginative and fun. Will purchase Season 2 very soon. August 18, 2008

I'm looking forward to seeing this series -- when the price drops -- so I may have to wait! At $25, I'll seriously think about it! At $20, I'm sold! August 12, 2008

Like other Dr. Who fans I had high hopes for Torchwood, and it is fertile ground for a sci-fi series. However, the first series rarely delivers during its run of thirteen episodes. Other than the main character of Captain Jack, any other of the actors could have easily been replaced with a chunk of wood and the show would have been much improved.

The real fault for this painful to watch show lies with the production team, who didn't seem to make any right choices when developing this series. I found particular fault with their decision to make the Torchwood team a bunch bickering, self-obsessed, petty individuals who couldn't work together or stay focused on the investigation at hand in any of the episodes. In most of the story lines Torchwood are their own worst enemy more than any of the external threats they are trying to deal with. Torchwood watches more like a daytime soap with creatures than a sci-fi show, and a poorly written soap at that. August 8, 2008

I love the new Dr. Who series and when I heard about Torchwood, I was curious. I do not get BBC America so I wanted to do some research before commiting to buy the whole season.

Numerous people mentioned the inclusion of adult themes but they were tastefully woven into the stories. My son is grown up so that was not an issue for me. What impressed me was the almost everyone who talked about Torchwood seems to love it so I downloaded the first 3 episodes on iTunes. It was so awesome I bought the first season and have already preordered the second one.

I am hooked and Torchwood is and will be part of my video collection. And until I get signed up for BBC America, I will be watching any new episodes on my iTouch because I just do not want to wait until the DVDs come in the mail. August 4, 2008
