I love this show. Its so funny/quorky/full of adventure. Won't regret buying/renting it. Zachary Levi is so great at being an accidental spy with a crappy job. The guy that plays Morgan is so needy/funny. October 4, 2008

The best way I can classify this is James Bond meets The Office. Chuck is hilarious!

Chuck is an accidental spy with a supercomputer in his head. Enter a beautiful female spy and a manic gun-crazy male spy sent to protect Chuck and the secrets in his head.

I love ALL the characters in this show. Not only do the main three characters make you laugh and cheer, the comic support and side-kicks are kick-butt as well. Who couldn't love a show with a motivation-impared buddy who is obsessed with video games and eating foods found at the bottom of the fridge? Or a show that has a character that for 3/4 of the first season is known only as Captain Awesome? If you haven't seen this, check out an episode online and then buy the whole set. Laugh. Enjoy. For someone in their 20s and 30s that has a brain, I would think, you know people that work at Buy More. Adventure, action, puzzles, comedy, believable characters (if not circumstances--but this IS entertainment), oh, and quirky. If you like the struggle between a good guy and villains, you'll love this. If you can just enjoy television, you;ll enjoy this. If you want to follow a character you believe in, this is a must.

The characterizations are wonderful, the back story full. It is off the wall, but that's what makes it amazing, surprising and something you can root for.

Oh ... and another plus? Adam Baldwin!!! September 27, 2008

rating: 5 QuoteThe best new show from last seasonQuote
Around this time last year, i first saw the promos for a new show called Chuck. I was intrigued by what i saw in the promos and decided to give the show a look. A few episodes later, i was hooked and converted into a devoted Chuck fan.

I think that it was the best new show last season. I really love the unique premise of the show created by Josh Schwartz and Chris Fedak. It has something for everyone, which is a nice blend of action, comedy, a little drama, plenty of sex appeal(mainly for the fanboys), romance and great characters in a quirky manner.

The two standout stars of the show by far are Zachary Levi and Yvonne Strahovski, who are the glue of the show IMO.

First of all Zachary Levi is a great find by Josh Schwartz as reluctant hero Chuck Bartowski. He perfectly conveys the overall geekiness of Chuck and has excellent comic timing similar to the late John Ritter.

Then there`s Yvonne Strahovski, who is Australia`s best import since AC/DC and the latest dream girl for fanboys like myself. Yvonne really brings a lot of depth to the role of Sarah Walker. At first glance Sarah seems like your typical sexy action goddess, but as the season progressed we got to see some depth with Sarah, mainly when she`s around Chuck.

This brings me to my next point, which is the great chemistry between Zach and Yvonne. Mere words can`t describe how perfect they are together. They perfectly convey the angst between Chuck and Sarah with the complicated nature of their relationship. It was very obvious almost right away that there was a spark between them. The standout Chuck/Sarah scene to date IMO was in Chuck Versus The Truth where before drinking the antidote, Sarah told Chuck that she didn`t see their relationship going anywhere. The great chemistry between Zach and Yvonne was very evident in that scene. Plus Zach perfectly nailed Chuck`s heartbroken look in that scene.

The only negatives about Season one of Chuck was the lack of depth with a lot of characters like Casey and Ellie and Rachel Bilson`s guest starring stint as Lou. I really felt that Lou could`ve been done better by the creators(i.e. have her as a rogue agent). The fact that this didn`t happen really kept Lou from showing her full potential, although i have a feeling that she could be back sometimes in the near future.

Still this is only a small blemish on an otherwise very good first season of Chuck. The show had some growing pains early on like a lot of new shows, but really got better as the season went on. I highly recommend the Complete Season of Chuck, especially if you want to catch up on what happened before the new season, which i can not wait to see. Hopefully the show can make some progression overall and bring some new elements to it. September 21, 2008
