About CARRY ON NURSE
With SHIRLEY EATON, HATTIE JACQUES, KENNETH CONNOR. From the late 1950s on, a series of British-made low brow farces, all with the words "Carry On" in their titles, scored a major box office success. The same director and cast of slapstick comics worked together in film after film, which proved to be popular because they were uproariously funny - and not in the best of taste. This is the second of the "Carry On" films and its crammed with humor that is as delicate as a bedpan. The setting is the mens ward in a British hospital, where the patients are not too sick to declare war on their nurses and the rest of the medical establishment. There are loads of medical gags; the laughing gas sequence is especially riotous. Also look for the lovely JILL IRELAND (the late Mrs. Charles Bronson) in a small role. 86 minutes.
