More of same, please
'Broadway at the Pops' is excellent; especially for those - like me - who have never had - nor will ever have - the opportunity to attend one in person. I have visited Boston several times.
As a 'sign off', all I can write is 'more of the same, please'.

Just Buy It!!!!!
Being a long term Boston Pops fan, and with a very limitied availablity in Australia for anything Boston Pops, probably now read Nil!!, this is a must have. It provides a range of music with 3 majestic conductors, and I love it.
I was lucky enough to meet John Williams out the back of the Hollywood Bowl a couple of years ago, and he is a very nice man, and I love all of his work.
If you like this kind of music, this DVD is a must have!!!! December 31, 2007

A FIVE STAR WINNER
First of all I want to admit that I have been a Boston Pops fan for many years. As I live in England I have only have managed to see the orchestra twice when they visited these shores - once conducted by Arthur Fiedler and once conducted by Erich Kunzel. These were wonderful occasions and it made one feel one should move to Boston straight away to join in the fun at Symphony Hall. This DVD illustrates my point beautifully with highlights from 'Evening at Pops' TV broadcasts by WGBH over a 35 year period. The theme is 'Pops on Broadway' and all the performances are wonderful. If I had to pick favourites they would be Tommy Tune,Gregory Hines, Bernadette Peters, Audra McDonald and the magnificent Ethel Merman.
But the daddy of them all is the tribute to Leroy Anderson and his arrangement of George Gerswhin's music for 'Girl Crazy'. One is treated to some wonderful video editing when three separate recordings conducted by Arthur Fiedler, John Williams and Keith Lockhart are woven into one tour de force performance. Great stuff and it highlights the glorious rapport the orchestra has had over the years with their famous conductors. The DVD is worth it for this performance alone.
I would like to end by making two requests:-
1.To WGBH TV Boston - please can you issue more Boston Pops DVD.
2.To RCA records - Please could you reissue in CD format the two albums
of Chet Atkins with the Boston Pops. I have worn my LP'S out. November 23, 2007
