Average user review:This is a GREAT and dare I say ESSENTIAL Elton John dvd.. One of the best career overviews I've seen for one single artist on one DVD.. a 3 hour performance sprinkled with rare album cuts and the mandatory hits from his entire career. The highlights are the rare tracks, especially from the early days which some of them he's never performed live or hasn't for close to 30 years..
The bonus features are also great, providing many never-before seen live performances since the beginning of his career up until a recent performance of one of the tracks from his most recent album "The Captain And The Kid".
The performances are great, the song choices are great.. it's a perfect introduction to the man himself..
EXCELLENT!
All the best,

A Legend
The songs are there....the band is there......the magic is there. The only very minor downside is Robin Williams, who never seems to know when to shut-up, who continued to rattle on when Bernie Taupin was making his tribute to Elton. Come on Robin, have we not heard enough of you?
Otherwise, a great DVD by the Master himself. April 23, 2008
Loved it
I'm a long time Elton John fan, and so had to have this. It's well done, and includes most of his classics. A bargain at twice the price! April 23, 2008
60 Years On and loving it!
Oh, my God, was this a revelation. I went into this expecting to wince A LOT, but wouldn't you know it, Elton delivers AGAIN! First I must say that whoever wrote that it's a great value on DVD is exactly right and then some. There's so much material here that it's an EXCELLENT value for the money. And the concert is one you wished you've have been at, though the video version captures it so well, you've actually got the best seat in the house. The multimedia, lighting, sound and set list are superb. Elton and the band are on fire, and even his voice stands up just fine on nearly all tracks. Elton and Bernie have written some of the best pop music during their 40 years together, and even though he rarely appears on stage with the band anymore, it's great to see him out with Elton on such a big night in John's career. Elton himself punctuates Taupin's importance when he rightly tells the crowd, which includes celebrities like President Clinton and Brian Wilson, that without Bernie there would be no Elton John, at least not the one we've come to know.
Elton's never been one to do things small and a birthday party like this deserves a Madison Square Garden sized affair, and that's exactly what you get on this DVD set. Get it, put it on and turn up the volume, 'cause Elton's playing tonight!
The Rocket Man turned 60 and he's still Capt. Fantastic! April 22, 2008
